Become an Orthoptists

Becoming an Orthoptist is simple, you complete a 3 or 4 year undergraduate degree and go straight into the hospital setting as a practitioner.  There is also a post-graduate route for those who have completed an undergraduate degree but don’t know what to do afterwards, this option is a 2 year masters and you’re ready to go!

This is an exciting opportunity to complete a vocational course which enables individuals to learn the theory at university and then apply this to clinical practice from year 1 of study.  All study routes have integrated clinical placements across the UK and Ireland.  Students from the Republic of Ireland are charged home fees for these courses instead of international fees.

There are currently 5 institute offering undergraduate, postgraduate or both:

University of Liverpool

University of Sheffiled   Glasgow Caledonian University   University College London
